Odd-coloured goose
1D2n 600mm f4 IS x1.4, 1/1000s, f10, iso 100

I struggled with the colour balance on this one and I'm not sure if it looks right. The light was pretty whacky, so anything's possible. I tried autocolour in PS and it made me feel squeamish. Eventually I settled for a slight shift from green to magenta. What do you think?

Ian
Looks OK to me !
As a nit , I would crop a bit off the left anf get the birds head just a tad left of centre. The bit of splash you would loose in the process is not the best bit anyway.
Just my opinion .

Colour looks fine to me but my laptop's monitor isn't calibrated so don't be swayed by that.

I can see what John's getting at with the crop but in this case I think the landing trail is an important part of the story and should be kept so my preference is for the original crop rather than the re-post.

Just to be awkward, I would leave the splash as it was in the first one and add some more space to the right. Nice one and colours look ok to me.

I'm looking at this on a calibrated laptop so this may not be 100% accurate but I think it has a red cast - try de-saturating the red channel :wavey:

First one for me too Ian :toast:

It is slightly magenta - only a point or two, but it doesn't really seem that obvious on my calibrated 24".

I agree more space on the right on the first one would be better. I thought chopping it off the left might be easier !
Nice either way.

First for me too. I would keep the splash, as it is part of the story for me.

Hi Ian,

I too prefer the original, but see what John was saying. I also agree re slight magenta cast.

Nice shot

Its very nice, cast is only minor and easy to cure... for me the first looks fine, although the bird is rather centered it has a great lead in....
