Well, I am happy to report that it appears those huge Sunflower fields off of Tower road are going to be around again this year. I moved up towards there and drive by the fields daily and 2 of the fields have recently been seeded :) I was getting worried the last few months because of all the construction going on in the area and since those fields are actually for sale, we may not get to see em! So far so god, let's keep our fingers crossed!

That's great news John!, I'm hoping to see some up here in Longmont area too - I know they used to plant them in this area (4 years ago when I previously lived here anyway). Great shot BTW!.

John, Really Awesome image! When would you say they might be blooming this year? I may be coming through the Denver airport this year in July. These sunflowers would be an awesome sight to see.

Good to hear John.

Funny to think back to when they built DIA (which I still think is technically in Kansas). I thought, who in their right mind would build a house out here.

Apparently the answer is lots of folks.

John ~ These aren't the sunflowers off of 470 and Jewell are they?

Hey guys thanks for the replies! Nope, these aren't the sunflowers off C470 and Jewell, and that field in fact is on my hitlist this year. I saw some shots over on Flickr last year of that field but never made it out there. These fields, encompass a square area of miles upon miles...I have never seen anything like it before, honestly. Just head north on Tower rd. and you will pass I-70, and keep going. About 4 miles up on the left side you will see all the new construction, lots of new Hotels, restaurants, etc. Bennigan's and Rubby Tuesday come to mind as landmarks. In fact, directly behind the Bennigan's there is a massive field there. You can walk right into it as there is nothing guarding it.
Yes July would be fine, I shot almost all my shots from July to August last year. :)
