Hi Everyone,

I have finally given up waiting for Nikon to deliver some of their new VR Telephoto Lenses to the UK! therefore I opted to purchase one of the last few remaining Nikon 600mm f/4DED-IF AF-S II Nikkor! Some good bargains are to be had if you haggle. I received it late yesterday and couldn’t resist in giving it a try out in the garden. I managed to capture this lovely little Blue Tit!

Happy shooting,

Excellent. I like the way the BG colours match the colours of the BT.

I could photograph these all day.
Nice shot.
I know its back lit but I reckon the bird would benefit from "beefing" up a tiny bit.
Mind you it could be me and my monitor on a sunny day ! Not used to it !
Cheers
John

Hi Paul,

Nice shot, although I agree with John, colours need a bit more oomph!

Hi Paul,

Nice with a nice comp, I do feel however that you can get more from the RAW file, I would push the cheek whites even further without worrying about the rim lighting as you are bound to lose detail there, also I think the black point could do with a touch of adjustment....

It is a really nice shot though...
