Living in the 4 Corners area is a real blessing, except when it comes to obtaining digitized U.S.G.S. topo. maps. I only need maps of the Colorado Plateau area, which encompasses four states and makes the more popular topo. map software sold by states prohibitively expensive for me.
An eBay store called ImageTrader (aka Landsat.com) is selling digitized countywide U.S.G.S topo maps for every Western state for just $5.00 apiece over the next six days. These maps usually sell for $15 a pop. Shipping is $3.95 for the first county, and free for subsequent counties on the same order. Just type in the state you want in the 'Search' window.
A big 'Thanks!' to fellow mapaholic Todd Caudle for posting news about the demise of TopoZone, which gave me the incentive to find an affordable alternative.

What do you mean by Digitized? I use a combination of USGS dlgview32 and maps from the Libre Map Project which contains all the GIS data along with the maps. Best of all it is all free and should remain free.

I piggybacked on Jim's mention of the Libre map site and sure enough, all the quads are available free. I downloaded some last night and pasted them together in CS3 (took a little work, but what doesn't?)

Thanks Adam & Jim!
You know how to warm a cheapskate's heart. I'm mighty happy I posted this topic.
By digitized, I meant 'scanned'. Thanks again, guys!

Darn it. I didn't know that Topozone was down. What I used to do is click on the spots that I wanted to visit and put this UTM data into my GPS and also wrote it in on a Qual map if I had one. I figured out my own route to White Pockets with the Topozone maps. What now? Is there any map that will give GPS locations with a click? THanks.

Another free option for viewing USGS Topos on your computer is a network link overlay available for Google Earth. This doesn't work very well on slow internet connections. But if that's not a limitation (or you are very patient), it might be worth a try. But this is mostly for online viewing. They don't print very well. HTH.
