Fulmar in Flight & REPOST
Here's the next installment from Fair Isle. This was taken during a session getting shots of fulmars riding on the strong upcurrents of wind against the cliffs on Buness, Fair Isle. This was one of the shots I was hoping for - fulmar in the light against a dark backdrop (cliffs in shadow).

Glad I'm shooting digital - would have been an expensive morning on film!

Canon EOS 30D
Canon 300 f/4L IS
1/1250 f/6.3
ISO 400

Thanks for looking!

Very nice Adam, I like the way the light shines through the feathers and getting the shot deliberately rather than just firing away and hoping for the best (like I do) would make it a bit more special if it were mine. I wonder if it might be even better with the light patches cloned out especially the one close to its back.

A good flight shot, and it is great that you managed to get an image that you were hoping for... I do think though that the light hasn't done you any favours, I still like it though.

Hi Adam,

Lovely flight shot! A difficult bird to get the exposure right in harsh lighting!

Here's a repost with a cleaned up background.
