Another shot from my overnight at the Ancient lakes. After dinner Yukon and I climbed atop a little mesa above our lake to see what we could find. Maybe kind of a boring shot, but I was attempting to portray the general flavor of the area. I like this country and I prefer to think of it as mellow. What do you all think? Does this have any general appeal?

The rock, although colorful and interesting, really blends in to the immediate background and looses it's appeal. If you had one little flower or something right there I think it would work. I could envision a smaller interesting rock surrounded by those grasses, cliffs and sky working.

Marc, This is the kind of scene that reminds me of this area. I definitely like the soft light on the grasses, but feel some drama in the sky would improve it.

I have a another one with a more dramatic sky. Durn it, I should have posted it first.
