Thought I'd jump on the plum tree bandwagon so I went to the Garden this morning.
My wife likes this composition, but I think it's too "touristy"; ie. just walk up and shoot. Your thoughts.

I'm enjoying the sweeping lines of the branches leading out from the base which I haven't seen in the other shots. However, there isn't anything that is holding my attention and I'd like to see the base of that fence post and a little more foreground as opposed to it being chopped off.

I think including the base of the fencepost would have been better. But this is certainly a nice composition in general.

I totally agree. That's why I call it a "tourist shot"
Jason & Mel, the original has the base of the post, but also a slice of pavement as well. In order to keep the base of the post I'd be cropping into the tree.

Ah,
Then you didn't notice what I did in my shot. I took the little slice of grass above the pavement and cloned it in a random pattern to get rid of the pavement. It looks fine at a printable size.

I will try that. Thanks
