Stan beat me to posting more Dunes shots (and super ones at that), but I thought I may as well post this one from last weekend. The wind was absolutely howling so bad that I couldn't even extend the legs on my tripod all the way -- I ended up kneeling beside my truck.

Wow! Look at the dust on top of the dune field. Even on a mild breezy day I've gotten sand into everything. This looks like camera hell.
The skies are nice, but I think it could stand a little PS work. I think a levels layer to darken the sky a slight bit and another to lighten the mountains would help. Then finish with a slight increase in contrast overall and I think you'll have a winner.

Thanks for the suggestions Mel, I need all the help I can get -- especially when it comes to working with images in PS. So I worked on the things you suggested and came up with this.....
Paul, I think this vesion is better. I'm not too sure about the overall comp. Not too much going on in the foreground. I do like the blowing sand over the dunes as Mel pointed out. If this was taken last Saturday evening, then I was out there somewhere. You're right, it was howling, and you can get a sense of that in this shot.
Ok ill confuse you and say io prefer #1, i feel softer is better here. Love the sky you got! Tell me about the wind, i wore a cap so my eardrums werent blown out!
