Red Rocks
I found a new spot at Red Rocks and made this image this morning. My goal was to eliminate extraneous stuff, with the boulders leading to the lone tree.

Your comments are appreciated.

All the boulders "stuck" in the layers is really cool.

I'm not sure about the twiggy tree in the top though.

Really liking how much that little tree adds to the image. Fine stuff!

Personally I would crop it square with out the top sky and tree; Just rocks!

My original comp was "just rocks". So, in honor of our resident rock Dr., that's the name of this image. I couldn't crop it square though - because everyone knows the world is rectangle.

 BTW ~ I used a D300 with the new Nikon 16-85mm and I really like the sharpness of this lens and detail from the D300 images!

Very nice. Like the color of the rocks and the comp in the second image.

They are both pretty neat! A nice reminder of what's close to home. With gas prices what they are, this gives me a little inspiration to go out and explore the neighborhood.

Hey Dave - Nice shots. I think I'm leanining towards the 'just rocks' comp personally. Are the trees starting to leaf out around Red Rocks yet?

Thanks for your feedback, folks. The trees are showing some spring leaves and the next week should be great for pale green spring color.
