Hope it's OK to post this, I went out today for an hour or so and was amazed to get some decent bird pics. I found ospreys, swainson's hawk, RWB and a nice pair of wood ducks.
I checked out your link, Bill - a really nice series of wildlife images. I esp like the osprey - so sharp throughout and a great action shot.
I noticed the BG of your Mountain Bluebird looks kind of funky. I get this same look occasionally on "big" telephoto wildlife shots and have never figured out what causes it. Does anyone know?

Agree Gail, the bluebird isn't a great shot and the background is funky, it was shot with Nikon D300, 300mm f4 lens and TC17EII, 1/500s, and I haven't yet got close enough to a bluebird to get a good shot. I can't remember if it was windy or not. Shot from the car window in RMNP if I remember right using a bean bag.
Excellent osprey shot, Bill. Wonderfully sharp and great posture, it can be really difficult to get a quality shot like this. Is this in Fort Collins or in the Poudre Canyon?

Thanks Dave, well you know what they say, the harder you work the luckier you get! Now if only I could get "the boss" to agree to fund a 300 f2.8 VR lens!

Bill, that's an incredibly sharp image! Very nice!
Love the frozen action and tension here!
