Hello Friends......
My 1 of 2 tulip shots this year.......hopefully next year will provide more time for exploring this part of photography!!!!

Camera: Nikon D300
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 60 mm
ISO Speed: 200

I blurred the image except for the single bud in the middle......but damn that 60 2.8 is sharp!!!!!

Very nice Darren. Soft colors, excellent use of blur and no background to distract me.

Holy cow! I like this a lot Darren. A unique "angle" on flora photography. The DOF is perfect IMHO.

Great shot, Darren! Of all the colors in Nature, and in flower gardens, this has got to be one of the best. I use the 105/2.8 and sure like it. Did you manually focus or auto focus? Just curious.

I think this is just marvelous, Darren! Purple tulip framed by brilliant yellow tulips - wow. The soft focus on the yellows is very effective. I'm wondering if cloning out the OOF yellow tulip behind and L of the purple one might strengthen the already strong comp even more.

Sweet shot, Darren - one of the best I've seen of an intimate tulip. I'm going to be with Curtis in the morning in Woodland if you are interested in joining - hopefully there will be some good ones left for frame fillers like this..
