Today, I took advantage of a winter day in late April. Here's a shot of my climbing partner leadingThe Fang (WI5) (a freestanding ice pillar near Vail, CO). A full trip report (including photos of course) can be found here:
It's the climber, which gives this a sense of scale along with a shot of color, that makes this one work so well. The composition alone is really outstanding!
Same w/ the fisheye version....technically not a 'great' shot, but the addition of the climber adds so much to it.
I could easily see these in Outside magazine's 'Exposure' section!

These are all great, but I love that wide-angle version. I agree with John, these could certainly be in a magazine.

Scott, these are totally cool! If you can tame those cloud highlites abit in the ampitheatre shot, it would be absolutely insane.

DAmn Scott those are awesome!!! I really like all three of them... but #220 - "midway up the fang" stands out to me as the most visually pleasing. Great stuff.

Scott ~ Awesome stuff!! I'm with Jack, the 'zoomed' in aspect. It leaves a little more mystery to me.. Like where the heck is this guy going...
