Scott's picture of his partner climbing the fang got my reminiscing on this year's Ouray Ice Festival. The image is of Ines Pappert, one of the most talented climbers in the entire world. Again, taken with my E-1 and 14-54 lens.
Let me know what you think of the composition. Thanks for looking!

Justin, well it's scary that's for sure. What's the red line? What does it look like as a vertical?
The red line is a sprayed on guide so the climbers would know the boundary of the route. The section Ines is on is actually inverted. All in all, it looked like one heinous route. I know I couldn't have done it. Thanks for looking.

Nice shot Justin, I really dig the climbing pics and Ouray has some great ice for it.
Hey, Justin. Fine shot and a scary looking activity! I might crop a bit all the way around to bring out the climber a bit more. Either way, it's a nice shot. Do I see a camera on a tripod in the upper left of this image? If so, how in the world did it get there?
I originally thought about cropping, but I wanted the viewer to be able to grasp the immensity of the canyon and the amount of ice around the climber. And yes, that is a camera on a tripod. The photographer is actually on a time stand that has been lowered into the canyon...he was the chief photographer for the event. Pretty scary, isn't it?! Thanks for looking!
