For those of you that have not yet gotten out and about, the Purple Trilliums are definitely at their peak here in Central VT. They are everywhere and not a blemish on them yet. Next up? Painted Trilliums and Lady Slippers :jump:

Beautiful flowers! the trillium here in oregon only turn purple-ish when they are fading - these look as if they start and stay this color ? Do you have white ones too?
This deep red is gorgepus.

Yes, its called the Purple Trillium, and it stays this color till it dies. We have another purple trillium called the Drooping Trillium. We also have the Painted Trillium (the white one with pink in the middle). We have one more I think, but the name escapes me. Thanks for the comment!

Wow Jon, really great shot...did you shoot this with a wide angle...and how wide if so. I love the near / far full forest effect.

We also have large white trilliums, and some snowy trilliums, the latter of which aren't native to the area, but have made their way into the forest via wildflower gardens.

Hi Jon!! Nice grouping of these pretty trilliums. It's still a bit too soon for anything up here but soon!!!

It was a wide angle lens. That flower was about 2 inches from my lens, and I then used an aperture of around 4.2 (don't quote me on that though, i never remember )

Glad ya'll like!
