This boulder pile downstream from the footbridge at Smith Creek is part of my excuse for staying out so late Saturday evening during the CSNP gathering. I found so much beautiful scenery it was hard to turn around and head back to the group.
I had a great time and enjoyed everyone's company. Rod, thanks for the generous hospitality. Wayne, thanks for all your effort to make the gathering possible. Merle, thanks for the tri-tip and the rest of the awesome Saturday night meal. Bill, thanks for the excellent breakfast. Tom, Louis, Brad, Dale, Bruce, Glenn, and Tim F.- it was a pleasure.
Tim E., thank you for opening your gallery; your prints are phenomenal.

John, it looks like you have a good excuse for staying late in this shot. Smith Creek is a place you can stay for days. It was nice meeting you too. I look forward to seeing more of your shots.

John,
This is a great excuse. I don't blame you at all for staying as long as possible.
Beautiful, John! Definitely worth spending some extra time with to shoot from various angles and compositions. There was some really nice light about the time you were out...glad you got the shot.
Nice shot, John! Great composition and well chosen exposure. Beautiful texture in the creek.

Wonderful shot John, Dale and I knew you must have been totally engulfed in the beauty that evening. The light was perfect. There is no better excuse for staying out late then to get that one last shot.
Thank you John for playing chauffeur for me as well, it was very appreciated.
Wonderful meeting you.
Take Care,
Brad

That shot is a good excuse for hanging out a little longer. I like the color the tree in the upper portion adds to the scene. Nice capture. Of course while you were hanging out with the creek - some of us got to go back to the cabin and enjoy nature's bounty. Pleasure to meet you and I enjoyed shooting with the group.
John a really great smith creek image. great job on the water. the color and detail is great. I really missed not being able to be there and meet / get to know everyone. Look forward to seeing some more of everyones images.

Good one, John. You've arranged the elements of the image nicely, the boulders are beautiful, and the splash of green at the top is like an exclamation mark for the picture.
John, no doubt about why you wanted to linger a little longer! Well worth the additional time (and concern on our part). A beautiful scene well captured. Next time we're down in Smith Creek I'm going to have to work downstream to see what all you found.
I enjoyed getting to meet you. Thanks for helping make the weekend one to remember!
