Just back from a flying visit to South Africa to see some friends and also managed a few days in and around the Pilanesberg Game Reserve (having a ranger as a mate also helps!)
This is one of the males from the "central pride" . He's watching a couple of females a little way off hunting a Wildebeest.
The grass in the park is very long this time of year which can be a pain, but i feel it adds to this shot.
Please let me know what you think on the style??
regards
Kevin

I'd like to see a bit more room below for the virtual legs. I'm not keen on the monochrome, but that's just me. Generally I like the idea :)

Hi Kevin,
Very nice image! Well captured! As for the style I like it, however I'd like a touch more room at the bottom of the frame if available! As for the colours awesome!

Love it.......... except for the lack of space for virtual legs, I really like the treatment though
I've re-cropped with more space at the bottom. Works better, thanks.

Repost looking good Kev
Can you do something about the large grass stem sicking out of his head?
Nice one

Great shot of an animal I will never see in the wild.
I suppose if they live in long grass then this is how you see them. Thats what a photograph should show I reckon- how they really are seen.
Good one

That's better now - but you've chopped his 'virtual legs' off again
Give 'em back to him you cruel person and remove the white stem sticking out of his back too
Awesome shot and comp - I'd like to see the colour version too.

I love it , I like the colours and the lion's stance. I would like to see more room around it though. I think, the lion low in the right hand corner of the frame and then normal size around it. It would give more of a sense of scale and drama, I think and perhaps a little brighter. Only a suggestion and may not work of course!
Yes , I like that, it is different from the norm but quite an evocative treatment. Nits covered, but definitely well worth tidying up as suggested. Eric
