spring flower, any idea
i was out with a friend who is an area warden for the LWT and he took me out to look for orchids, we found a group of early purple's and one was massive the flower was around 5 inches without the stem. Bluebells were starting to flower in numbers with wood anemone and groups of this stunning little flower but i cannot find it in my flower book, can any one tell me what it is.

canon mk2
180 macro
f3.2

Thanks Lewis :wavey:

Hi Lewis,

Sorry no idea what it's called! Lovely image though! Your choice of using a shallow depth of field is awesome! Lovely background too!

Small, close growing to the ground? Communal growing? Looks like a Celandine.

(180 f/3.2?! - f/3.5 perhaps?)

Ranunculus ficaria would be my guess too - very nice image comp and BG :toast:

Could do with a tweak in processing though as it looks a tad flat imho

I like the composition too and the green streaky bg, agree it looks a tad dull and simple levels might do the trick perhaps.

An interesting shot, it almost looks underwater to me. Lesser Celandine for me too and I like it.
