Smith Creek - BSW (Before Soaking Wet)
A Smith Creek shot from Friday evening before we hiked out 12 miles  in lightning and a driving downpour! :jump:

I want to thank everyone who attended for making the second Spring Gathering a fabulous success! It was great to see old friends and meet new ones!

A special thanks to Rod Kissinger for opening his cabin to a bunch of muddy tired photographers. And thanks to Tim Ernst for opening his Gallery so that we could see what a real photographer's work looks like in print! WOW!

Wayne,a wonderful place and you captured the essence in this shot. The rain, thunder and lighting had my senses charged up on that hike out. That is what the outdoors and photography is all about, you never know what is next, but is there is probably a good scene worth shooting! Nice seeing you again and thanks for organizing the outing.

Wayne,

This looks awesome! Good to see there is still some moss after all the flooding.

I wish I could have been at the gathering but it was that or the Smokies with Richard Bernabe for a few days and the Smokies won.

Great shot, Wayne. I wished I could have gotten there early enough Friday to go with you guys, even if it meant getting soaked. Thanks again for organizing the event. It was good to meet you. I look forward to the next one.

Wonderful shot Wayne it takes me right back there. That Friday afternoon was one for the memory books. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in to organizing this great adventure. I look forward to more!

Take Care,
Brad

Hey Wayne, Love the shot. I thought it was a 14 mile hike in and an 18 mile hike back out in the thunder and lightning !!!! This shot shows what is in the area and the possibilities available if you know where to look. It is crisp and clear with good detail. Thanks again for organizing the affair and especially for driving to places my little mouse wouldn't even try to go. I appreciate all the effort put forth by you, Rod and the rest of the board members. It was a good time to make new friends and enjoy the company of like minded individuals.

Wayne a really pretty capture. Love the small waterfall. 12 Miles man, Smith Creek is pretty rough country also.

Great shot Wayne. I feel like I am right back there looking at this image. I also want to thank you for putting this trip together. I had a blast!
I didn't think it was that far down into Smith Creek when you took us back on Saturday night. Must have been the weather on Friday evening.

That's some quality light you guys had Friday afternoon, as shown by this beautiful image. Shots like this make it worth walking out of Smith Creek - even in a downpour.

Thanks for all your efforts in putting this together again this year, Wayne. From everybody's comments, I think it was a trip to remember for all. I'm looking forward to the fall when we can do it again. :wavey:

That's a nice image Wayne. I could spend a few days down there. Even with the prospects of a "12 mile" hike out. Photographers like us need pack horses. (or a key to the gate) I really had a great weekend. Thanks again for all the work of setting this up.

Another beautiful big picture shot. I like how you managed to capture several distant boulders.
