One of the many small chutes in the beautiful Smith Creek area.
I am so happy to have been able to go shooting with such a great bunch of photographers. Thanks to all that attended for making it such a fun outing. It is a good thing that we did lots of hiking to walk off all the good food. A special thanks to Rod for letting us use his wonderful cabin. Give Sid a biscuit for me. I miss the little guy!

Great composition Dale! The foreground really adds to this image. I like the way the old log points to the water fall. Sure enjoyed the weekend and your company. Hope to see you and the whole group again.

Don't those chutes all look beautiful? I've been coming down to the Boston Mountains area for 20+ years and haven't got tired of them yet. I like this also Dale, but unlike Glenn I would have cropped the foreground out. Just goes to show you can't please everyone.

Neat shot Dale. I too always try to incorperate a very close forground in wide angle shots. Sometimes I get too much and sometimes I don't get enough. I like how this takes my eyes from the bottom of the image to the top with details along the way. Nice job.
I think I may have a shot in about the same area I will try to get on soon.
This is really nice Dale - great composition. There are just a lot of neat things to shoot down there and this was a beautiful scene. I especially liked the color of the water in this little pool...
Nice shot Dale. I like the log and rocks in the foreground because it tends to shot how rugged the area is instead of just the water and the chute - kinda like the one I just posted of the same area.
The cropping of an image is usually the hard part for me. I wanted to keep the log in the image since it was what drew my attention to this one in the first place. The mailman just delivered the print of this one and it looks great. You have to love the service at MPIX. I placed the order yesterday about 8am and they arrived in the mail today. I only paid for normal shipping.
Nice shot Dale. While the foreground is a bit busy, the balance is just right. I wouldn't crop. And you gotta love how that log points to the chute. It was good to meet you, and I look forward to seeing more of your shots from the weekend.
Organized chaos comes to mind Dale. I do like how you used the tree to lead the viewer into the frame and you've done a good job avoiding intersecting lines in a busy forest setting.
This is a comp that I wouldn't have taken primarily because I have a tendency toward simple, clean scenes. Tough to find in these mountain settings.
