Dear All,

I had a long brainstorming about photography and the reasons why I love taking pictures and looking at them.
I ended up with these three reasons:

1. Composition - an effective composition captures the viewer. This is something I learnt also thanks to this forum and it is probably the most important characteristic of Nature photography

2. Subject - I was mainly posting here in Earth Sea and Sky and in Man & Nature. These subjects are great but are, now, for me a bit too "seen" and, to some extent, boring.

3. Moment - This is what I really love in photography. Capturing "decisive moments".

The three things together make a photo something great and difficult to forget.
I believe that most of Nature photography has (1) and, sometimes, (2). So, even if I love looking at the great photographs you all post here, I find them more aesthetic then "full" of content.

For this reasons I'll limit my posts in this forum in the future, since my subject are now more "reportage" oriented rather then nature.

Nevertheless I don't forget the nice friend I found here, and dedicate to all of you this Rose.

I invite you to check my website if you have the pleasure to see my photographs and please let me know whatever you plan to come to Sicily: It will be my pleasure to guide you.

I wish you all the best on your future photographic ventures. As for a Sicily trip - some of the photographs posted here have certainly brought up that thought. So, you never know. It's not that far from Switzerland.

It's always to to sit back, reflect, and choose a path. It sounds like you've decided on something which will make happy so I congratulate you, my friend, but don't be a stranger!
