Bag Hides

I noticed in an earlier post by Andy Bate that he uses a bag hide. I have been considering getting one of these for some time now but have been a bit unsure as to their effectiveness. I use fixed hides and also the normal tent type hides but have never tried one of these. Does anyone else have any views on them, ie; do they work?
Cheers

Hi rob!!

I got mine a few weeks ago from on here and i must say that when i got it i chuckled, but, i dont anymore as its great ...... i use it mainly as a stalking tool as i dont have much time to spend out and about, find it really good for getting close to alot of things, just throw it over you and sit and wait, most stuff doesnt realise you are there, had a skylark hovering and calling a foot from my head the other day sat in it!!!

I have modified mine by cutting a small hole so i can look thru the view finder whilst still having my head out the hole.

Well worth it

I got mine from NatureScapes and love it. Be sure to buy a lightweight because it can heat up in there very fast. Wear a hat so the hide doesn't come between your face and the viewfinder.

Well worth it.

If you search back, this topic has been covered several times on the forum with tips on how to get the best out of a bag hide.

I did a similar mod to Andy B's except I cut a hole large enough for the camera body to poke through. In hot weather I often simply drape the hide over the camera and tripod and sit behind it.
