Male Ptarmigan calling
Been to Scotland for a few days and went in to the hills for Ptarmigan. I wanted to get some coverage of them in their spring plumage and also the Males are very busy trying to attract females at the moment so give plenty of chances for action shots.

Canon 1D MK11, 500mm Lens, F4, 1/2000, ISO 200.

Nice one Danny, its good the way they match their surroundings, a patchy bird to match the patchy landscape, I guess its either that or be eagle lunch.

You know I love this. I bet you had a great time over there with snow and everything.
Absolutely great shot and well exposed. Indeed one for the cover.
