The petals have reverted to leaf tissue and so have the male sexual
organs, hence the double flower. I am hoping the female sexual organs are still normal so I can cross-pollinate it in the future.
The white powder on the flower is called farina.
AFAIA this is one of the very few true double green auriculas in existence, if not unique.
For those interested this website is worth a visit, but beware, those that fall for auriculas can be hooked for life.

Question for you - can Helicon handle 8 bit full res TIFFS without sucking all the life out of your computer or are you stacking down sized jpegs - I'd appreciate a users input over the software rather than Helicons 'blurb' - thanks
Andy I'm not all that technical, but as far as I can tell, HF, in this case, merged 14 x 27.9Mb TIFF uncompressed files, colour depth 48/16 in less than 120 seconds on my computer. Producing a 23.9Mb TIFF uncompressed file. colour depth 24/8. Saved as a JPEG.
