I was shooting at Cathlamet this morning and saw a variety of birds, but the common Am. Robin still catches my eye. So common yet still a beauty to enjoy. This one was early enough to catch several worms, but this is the better shot of the bunch. This shot had 1 long stalk of grass running from the lower left bunch to the upper right, cutting him in half which I cloned out. A touch of highlight on the eye, some sharpening and the rest is as shot.
So you're assuming that this is the early bird since he got the worm. Couldn't he have been the sleep-in bird but maybe hungrier since he was out partying with his buddies till late last night? I don't know but maybe worms are great for hangovers (if you're a bird) and he had a blinding hangover, so he was highly motivated?
Nice one, Craig, I'd clone out the dried grasses also.
Nice catch Craig! I agree that just because they are common doesn't mean they aren't sharp lookers. I like his pose. This looks just a tad yellow and dark to my eye. For example if I open it in Photoshop, add a curves layer, and click "Auto" it looks a bit better to me.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Here is repost after I applied your remove grasses and photoshop curve layer suggestions. I do think she looks a lot better. Have a great day!
