Hi All
I have been trying to find out what CF cards the canon 1Ds mk2 will handle
I currently using a Sandisk Extreme 3 8gb card.
I have been in contact with canon support and with card suppliers and no one seems to know
I would like to know if i can use extreme 4 cards and if so up to what size, if not:-
Extreme 3 cards up to what size, and if there is any benifit from doing so.
This info is not blurry at all (imo) and is accessible in a number of places.
Extreme III and Extreme IV are just trade names for products produced by SanDisk. They have nothing to do with a "type" of card (they are in fact available as CF Type II cards and SD cards both of which can be used by the cameras).
Information about the types of cards usable by these cameras is actually in both the product descriptions on Canon websites and also in the product documentation that comes with the cameras.
As to the size of cards that can be used, again this information is in both the manuals and online but in short, you should have no problem using any size of these cards currently available. Whether you would WANT to, is another matter entirely (personally, I don't use anything bigger than 4Gb and quite often 2Gb)
Example weblink: (Canon's own site) http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/Digital_SLR/EOS_1Ds_markII/index.asp?specs=1
Don't know whats up with me, not thinking right.
with what you have said
went on to the Sandisk website, its all there
choose your camera, it tells you the max spec and card you camera is compatible with
