I guess I will be brave and post one of the columbines from Lost Valley. I was disappointed with the images of the ones up high with the moss background. I needed my center column to get up higher. This one was around on the back side of the big boulder in the center of the creek. The columbines around here are getting ready to pop. I can't wait!
Nice comp, Dale. And despite the bright sun, you've done a good job keeping the exposure in check. I can't wait for the Columbine up here in KY. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah Dale, I haven't decided if I'm going to post any of the columbine shots I took yet or not. Getting the whole thing in focus, getting it to hold still, and getting the light right all at the same time seems to be more than I'm up to at the moment. Still I like this and think you've done a good job Dale, especially how the flower itself jumps out of the picture while the plant receeds into the background.
Under the conditions you've done a good job controlling the highlights on this one Dale. Rich, detailed color in the petals and a pleasing comp. The columbine in my yard are just about to bloom so I may take a shot or two myself. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Dale. Very nice shot! That's an amazing amount of detail in the flower petals. Your composition puts the shadow in the background in the right position to really make the bottom part of the flower stand out.
Dale, Thanks for posting this flower. All the ones I shot are burned out from to much light. I might be able to isolate one - but that's on another day.
