Whimbrel
We seem to be getting an amazing passage of Whimbrel at the moment. They seem to be everywhere. 1d2n sigma 500

Unusual shot Craig. I know (or at least I'm assuming) it has lifted its other leg but it still looks a bit strange. I don't think I've seen one of these but then would it be possible for me to mistake one for a curlew?
Good strong portrait.

I think you've over used the clone tool Craig

Seriously though, nice (if unusual) pose. I would be tempted to clone out the detritus to the bird's right as it competes for attention

Good Whimbrel shot which I reckon might look even better with the rock lightened a little.

Really great shot - is this what they call "unbalanced" composition?
The water drop on the end of the bill adds something for me

Interesting shot. Not an easy subject to make interesting either.

Have seen an unusual number of them round this way, too. No decent portraits for me, though, so I would love a shot like this. I like the one-legged pose; nice one!
