Gorge Phlox
Here's another flower from my gorge trip last weekend. I'm still experimenting, being low on the learning curve for both flower and intimate photography. I took quite a few photos of large bunches of phlox, but found when I got home and sorted them that I liked this single flower with the branch better. My primary self-nit is that I wish I had pulled the grass blades out of the center, but I was hanging in a bit of a precarious position and didn't notice them.

John: If this is low on the learning curve I can't wait to see your advanced efforts. Wonderful.

John,
Great composition, I love the flower, just "POP"S" off the page, brilliant color. The twisted branch moving into the BG a nice part of the composition. Love it! :toast:

John, This is great, I like the way you shot it, the flower just pops out, the grass and branch belongs, excellent shot

I've looked at this off and on the last few days and really like how you did this with the branch.. :toast:

This is really nice. I like how the flower pops right out of the image. :toast:

John, I really love the texture of the rocks in your Gorge Poppies photograph, and the texture of the branch in this photograph, contrasting with the flowers. Very beautiful.

It's nice to not see a "flower portrait". The branch really adds and those grasses would be easy enough to get rid of.
