Hi Everyone,
My router packed up on Friday afternoon so I haven’t had any internet connection until I replaced and got it up and running last night!
Anyhow thanks to all those who had commented on my last post! This is the same heron from the other day. He’s quite scruffy looking due to strong bouts of wind. Let me know what you think!
I love Herons Paul, great subjects. Nice composition on this, you have caught the stride just right. It's a pity the reflection doesn't show all the bird as I think that would have made it even stronger. On this monitor it looks a touch light, losing a bit of detail in the whites but otherwise I like it.

Thanks for the comment. As soon as I had shot this frame I slackened off the tripod collar to turn the camera to portrait format and as I did so the Heron flew off! Typical!
It looks just like the one nicking my next door neighbour's fish out of his pond a few days ago. It would have been nice to see the reflection in its entirety, but still a nice image.

If it all gets a bit contrasty try turning the Active D Lighting up a notch
I have a problem with reflections. I never want to cut any off them and I can never get 'em all in !
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback appreciated as always!
Hi Andy,
Yes I'm enjoying the D300 (thanks for the tip!)
