I'm planning a trip to the San Juans to shoot wildflowers sometime between July 20-29. I have the option of flying into Grand Junction, Montrose or Durango. I noticed the Triple Crown Baseball Series and the Mesa County Fair are going on in Grand Junction at this time. Does anyone from the area recommend I avoid Grand Junction because of these activities?

I can't answer your question, but can assure you that you'll have a much shorter drive to the mountains from either Durango or Montrose!

The Juco Baseball Tournament is HUGE out here. Hotel rooms will be hard to find. If you are flying in and then driving out from here you'll be ok. Otherwise choose Mont. or Durango. Thanks! Scott@13photo.com

Hi Laurie,

GJ is quite photogenic if you like geological formations. Might be a nice treat. I'm here now, visiting from Ohio, and got these images the other night, only 30 minutes from the airport.

If you're into big scenery, it may be worth the trip. Whatever you choose, enjoy!
