Here is another one from the gathering. C+C at will.

The subject if beautiful Tim and your comp shows off some of this flowers characteristics. It's an unusual comp in that it's not anchored but I do like the way it seems to spring to life out of the ghostly leaf at LR. Nice work Tim.

Tim this is gorgeous! When did you sneak off and take this?

Overall this is great, Tim. I'd prefer it with the bottom cropped so that the leaves are anchored to the bottom. And you might try some selective sharpening on the insides of the petals, especially around the yellows.

I think your right on the sharpening. It loses some in this small compressed version. I tried cropping it but didn't like it, just seemed off balance to me. I did some quick rescaleing but I'm leaning toward the original. I would like some opinions. Both of them are here- http://timferrell.com/WordPress/

Hey Tim, I took a look at both versions of the Crested Iris and I still like the one that is not anchored to the bottom of the frame. As mentioned, I kind of like the ghostly leaves of the shot shown here.

My only suggestion would be to crop down from the top to position the bloom equi-distant from the edges. That puts your subject smack in the middle of a power point. Just my thoughts.
