alright chaps, i have set up a hide for foxes and have had 2 early morning starts both of which i have had some success, can anyone tell me if foxes can be caught on camera in the evening or is the morning the best time. I have found some large holes in the ground in the area but there is no smells around it do foxes scent around there erths.

Nice shot of foxy in his environment. I don't think there's a hard and fast best time. Whenever there's no humans around will be best. Foxes do indeed mark around their territory with dung which they place prominently on small mounds or even mole hills. You should also find food remains around the entrance. You may have found a Badger sett and of course foxes will use abandoned Badger setts (and occasionally occupied ones too). If Foxes are present I would expect there to be a definite foxy smell especially as there's likely to be cubs there too.

Foxes are very much creatures of habit so if you see one at say 8pm at the hole then the next day it wont be far off of that time, At the moment there will be cubs around so be very careful if shooting near a den as if disturbed the vixen will move the cubs,I shoot at both dawn and dusk and if there are cubs they may come out at ant time for a play

Tricky, as has been said with cubs. If they suss you once - forget it.
Baiting at anytime can be good but you must do it at a regular time.

Nice shot by the way.
