One of my favorite spots I go back to and shoot again and again... at this angle, the cascade looks very diminutive for some reason, but I like the surrounds it is set in, and also how well the entire creek looks this Spring.

Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

aaah, a signature Fenimore. I like the FG ferns pointing upstream. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Great eye for composition, Ned. It's busy, but it all works together beautifully.

I agree, very cool shot. The tip of that fern stopped just in time.

Things seem to be positioned just right, the small trees, ferns...not jumbled. I learn from you guys every day!

Lovely, Ned. That's just about as much moss as I've seen anywhere! Remarkable! Love how the stream travels through the frame.

Really a sweet shot, Ned. I love the water line thru the image.

There's that green...classic water cascade shot...done by Ned himself. This is another one to print up.

Was this in Eagle Creek? Methinks it's time to hang around the Gorge. The vine maples are glowing green right now (from I-84 anyway).

Beautiful scene Ned! With spring finally showing its early head, some flowers in a photo like this would put it over the top.

Thanks so much for the input. My first thought when I processed this was, "man - this is busy" - but I am glad it worked. The ferns were a big influence in taking the shot from my position. I worked a few comps with the clump of ferns visible in the lower left, too. Kevin - this is Ruckle Creek, over one canyon - close to Eagle Creek. You just park at the lot by the fish hatchery and walk East along the freeway until you reach it - can't miss it. The paved walkway is a section of old Highway 30. The trail up this creek will take you up around the Benson Plateau and connect with the Eagle Creek trail - but it is a steep one! The trail only parallels the stream for a short distance, but I am sure that the trail crosses the stream at some point, or gives the opportunity for more difficult access....

I'll echo what Marc said.

Ned, this is a pretty busy scene......however......there is enough water to guide my eye through the scene without a problem....I liked how you captured the entire area.....I only shot the falls themselves......post coming soon......

Nice job!!!!

Saturday should be another winner!!!!! :toast:

I love this mossy, almost tropical feel. Although there IS a lot happening, the stream ties it all together for me, and the sword ferns on the L and LR add a sense of order as well.

Ned,
the comp is great, but the color seems a tad off. Almost like asperagas... A tad more black to the yellows should do the trick.

Yup,
outstanding compostion, and it has a nice color to it as well. It's a little yellow, but works overall for me.

Thanks for your comments - I'll see what I can do to improve the yellows perhaps.. appreciate the constructive comments!
