Here is a calm capture of the rapids in Sweetwater Creek, located about 50 miles west of Atlanta The two logs were bravely standing their ground as the angry water continued its journey toward the falls. Here, along this river, a bloody battle was fought which resulted in the Union Army torching the large Manchester Cotton Mill of the South. I love history, and love photographing around the few ruins left standing of the Civil War.
You have made another very nice & clear photo. Keep up the good work. Thank you for the information on the history of the area. I have been to Kennesaw and other battle fields in the area, but did not know about this one which is only about 100 miles from where I live in Alabama.
I like the water movement and I think the water itself could carry the image. I'm not so sure the logs add anything here.
Also, the image appears slightly soft. I noticed where you posted this in ESS, your f-stop was f36. That's not doing you any favors either. I would have opened up and opted for a polarizer or ND filter instead to slow the SS, if that was your desired effect.
Did you happen to take any others without the logs? The wave is very cool.
No others. These rapids were just full of logs and rocks. I think I will probably try and crop out the logs and make this into a pano. for a different view. Your right the polarizer would probably been best if I had thought to carry one with me, It was not an easy task, hiking up trail over logs, rocks, climbing almost straight up over bolders, ets for 2 miles carrying my camera equipment in my backpack (about 25 lbs worth)Then the 2 miles back wasn't easy.. I will not go that route again to the falls. Was a beautiful place tho. Thanks everyone for your comments.
