Cañon City claret cup

This isn't the most epic shot out there, but I thought I'd throw something together to show some of the amazing cactus blooms going on right now. This is a quick and dirty merge of two files, one for the sky and one for everything else. I'll go back and do a better job, just wanted to post something, since it's been a while.

Holy crap Todd, that is one seriously profuse display of claret cup cactus blooms. I haven't seen anything close to that around here.

Wow, that is major! One of the largest clusters of cactus blooms I think I've ever seen.

I think a polarizer would have helped cut reflections off the rocks in a good way, but the bloom is really nice. Hopefully I'll be seeing some nice desert blooms tomorrow.

That's the fullest, plushest (for a cactus) grouping of claret cup I've ever seen!!! Congrats on the find. I just might have to drive down there today to see what I can find.

Dang - that is impressive! Should be a banner year all around for flowers hopefully!
