Meadow Pipit.
Picture taken with a 1 D MK2n 500mm 2x conv on a Bush Hawk Hand Held.
1/400 sec. F8 Iso 500. Would not recommend as it is heavy and the focus ring shifts as you walk along as it rubs against your leg. All comments welcomed. Full frame horizontally cropped to vertical.

Lovely, sharp and right DOF, like the yellow in the gorse.

Not quiet sure about the yellow background, maybe it will distract some folk from what is a very nice bird.

Regards

Chris

Ow - where's my Raybans

Now I like this a lot John :toast:

Perhaps crop a little tiny bit less and give more room for the 'virtual' tail - but wow is that an image with 'clout' :wavey: :wavey:

Stunning portrait. I am presuming the background is oof gorse in which case I think it suits the subject just fine and also gives a different look to the picture.

Hi John,

I should have said in my last reply but forgot! You must have one heck of a steady hand to capture such a sharp image with a held-held 500mm + 2.0x TC! Awesome!

Agree with Andy's 'virtual tail' room point, but definately a shot that stands out from the crowd!!
