My 2-month old CS 3 crashed.I could open raw filesnormally, edit, then when i hit "save" it would not save, and would not accept any further commands, including closing altogether. every time i tried anything, i got that irritating "chime" of rejection. Had to manually close nd restart entire computer.
Uninstalled CS3 altogether and re-installed. NOW, it will not even open raw files- says they are not an "accepted format."
anyone with any ideas? running Win Vista, new computer with plenty of power, pretty full of high-res images, but space left.
A. Call adobe tech support, they should be able to diagnose and help.
B. I don't know if it's too late for this but do a system restore to the last time the program ran ok. I don't know if this option works once you've deleted a program. I had a hiccup with CS3 and system restore took care of it but I hadn't removed the app.
Sandy: I would suggest deleting the preferences file. That file can become corrupt and create some very strange problems. I can't tell you off the top of my head how to do it but if you do a google search I'm sure you can find it. There is a way to start Photoshop while holding some a key combination that will prompt you to delete the preferences file.
I agree with Keith, as a first step. Try CTRL+ALT+SHIFT while opening PS. Then choose yes when it prompts you to delete the preferences file. I've used this several times to fix funky PS issues. Good luck, Sandy.
