I haven't posed a pic for a long while now but any excuse to avoid gardening (which was what I was doing when I spotted this little beauty this morning).

Thanks Mark. I tried various comps but thought with more space, the subject seemed 'lost' in a sea of green.
I suppose I should follow Frasier Crane's advice "If less is more, think just how much more, more could be", (and if you don't watch "Frasier", you'll have no idea what I am on about )
I used to be really into butterflies and moths as a kid and I should have been familiar with this species. I am sure they seemed a lot bigger when I was young
Beautiful focus on the moth and its colouring is great.. The Forget-me-not flowers look a little pale compared to the ones in my garden, though. Very, very nice.
David - these F-M-N flowers are very pale. They are in a pot and it is their first year having been grown from seed (a gift from our Vet after one of our dogs died). Not sure if this accounts for it. They are also very spindly so perhaps just a weak strain.
Off to treat the fence now (unless something else catches my eye - please!!! )

Its a Ruby Tiger by the way - Phragmatobia fuliginosa if I remember correctly.

Beautiful image! The subject is nice and vibrant and pops well from the background! It is a little tight in the frame for my taste though!
