Dipper Pose
20D, 400mm, 5.6, 1/100, ISO400, -1ex, tripod, bag hide, full frame, © Mark Sellings

Starting to really have some fun with these guys even though I've only had 2 photographic sessions due to work/family etc - they have such a photogenic environment near the nest and bring back some incredibly 'crunchy' looking food for their chicks!

Great pose, and a fantastic bird and location, only minor nit is that I would like more room at the bottom.

Very nice capture Mark.

I agree about the bottom (could easily be added) and I might be tempted to crop out the stray bright bit of foliage or whatever it is, just in front of the Dipper's legs but overall, a great photograph

Superb timing on your part Mark :toast:

Great moment caught, and a bit of PS wizardry at the bottom would certainly polish it off a treat :toast: :toast:

Yes very nice,
I,ve only seen them drop the wings on a bob, like this when they know I,m there and don't want me to know where the nest is !
Cheers

Absolutely stunning. Love it. Agree with having more room at bottom but I'd take it as is any day.
