Oxbow Crossing
While shooting at Oxbow Bend last Sept, I was startled by a loud splash.

He was flushed from the shore brush by a herd of tourists trying to get a closer look.

I've never seen a deer swimming before.

Lucky for you for the 'herd' of tourists. Cool picture.

Great shot!

We spent a long weekend in Leavenworth a couple years ago when we had that heat wave in March that prematurely melted a lot of snow and had the Wenatchee River flowing high and furious. I drove out Hwy 2 one morning and caught a couple deer attempting to cross the river. they got about 30 yards out, seemed to sense the strength of the current, and made a quick about face and returned to shore, and back across the hwy. It was a lot of fun to watch. First time I'd ever seen deer swim. I knew they could swim, but I'd never witnessed it before. They are really strong swimmers!
