Last month the boys and I made another trip along the Winona Forest Drive in the Ouachita Mountains. We hiked up to Flatside Pinnacle to catch the sunset, and I shot a bunch of compositions that featured Forked Mountain to the west. Every great once in a while, things work out as planned.
Nice shot John I love to wake up and see this. Now this cup of coffee is almost as good as the ones I've had in that spot. I like to shoot the sunrise from there so I can hike in early and just kick back and wait.
Really nice John. You know I believe if shots and moments like this were easy to get and experience, they wouldn't be nearly as great when they happen. It's great to hear you and your boys spend such quality time together. Very well done.
Hey John, this is certainly one of those magical places that keeps drawing you back. I was there four hours yesterday, shot about 500 images of basically the same scene - I just couldn't quit (made two trips down to the car to unload). The one I'll use in the new landscape book was in the very last batch that I shot, after the sun went down - I could have just slept the first three hours, but the mountain won't allow such a thing...
