Kingfisher with a fish
Spent part of the week setting up my site for kingfishers this week. They are such beautiful birds I always look forward to giving them a good go.

Canon 1D MK11, 500mm lens, f5.6, 1/320, ISO 200

The dark background works very well.

I opened this in great anticipation and was not disappointed. This just has to be everyone's life ambition. A good kingfisher image is always a delight to see, and this is one of the best kingfisher images I have ever seen.

Great shot !
How did you "set up the site" as you say.?
Did you bait an area to get the minnows to a spot or what?
Or was it just wait and see/
Cheers

Hello John

I bait an area to attract minnows and small fish which in turn attracts kingfishers I just use ground bait from a tackle shop which is great stuff. Hope that helps John.

Hi Danny,

This is fantastic! Got to be the best KF shot I've seen! Superb feather detail and colours! The smooth dark background makes this Kingfisher pop very nicely! The fish is just an added bonus! Nice one!

Nice work Danny, I've had to put my Kingfishers on hold for a while, I've got a GC Grebe nesting in the area I use

Look forward to seeing more of your Kings
