Heron with dinner
I caught this fellow the other evening as I went to the river for my evening boat in check on mother and her pumps. He was along the road with the snake and flew when I got close, I caught a couple then but this is the best. Water is now down so I can drive in no more boatrides for a while. Olympus E510 70-300mm at 600mm eq. f6.3 1/250 ISO 100 Croped about a third.

Wow, that's one very hungery heron. I think it's eyes are bigger than its stomach.

The curve of the corn(?) stalks makes this image work very well. He has the feeling of a guy trudging home after a long day at work.
