Jack In The Pulpit
1/180 sec, f/6.7, ISO 200, 105 mm (in 35mm format). Some color other than green might have been nice, but you take what you can get. Now, time for that macro lens.

Should I crop/zoom in more?

Well done, Patrick. Good point of view and DOF. The crop feels about right to me. A darker BG would have made the flower pop more, but as you say, you take what you can get.

Thanks for posting this shot. I took some of the same flower yesterday but couldn't remember what it was called.

Looks good to me. Since there was nothing around it really helps in isolating it. One thing to try might be a gold reflector, but sometimes we carry them sometimes we don't. I know that is the way it works for me. One thing I have thought about doing and have not done that might help to make it stand out a little more is to bouce flash off a reflector. I keep saying I will try it. You might try it and let me know.
