I am about to help stimulate the economy with my forthcoming rebate check! I am looking to get a new monitor and have found several threads touting the Dell LCDs. The Ultrasharp 2208WFP was recomended. I see Dell has a 24" model, E248WFP for only $40 more. Is this an Ultrasharp? The information does not say "Ultrasharp". Does anyone have any experience with the E248WFP?
Ken, if it does not say Ultrasharp, I doubt seriously that it is.
I have the Ultrasharp 2208WFP and I love it. That being said though, it still needed calibration, so be aware that the colors/hues/settings are not perfect straight out of the box.
I have two Dell ultrasharp monitors, and both are more clear than my crt was, I can see things on them I could not see on a crt.

I have a Dell E248FP monitor that I use in my non-photographic business. The brightness, contrast and color of this monitor are highly directional. This monitor is fine for my business needs but it is not suitable for critical photographic work. I have no complaints about my HP LP2465 monitor for photography other than It cost more than $100 more than the Dell.
Ken, I hope you will love your 2208 as much as I love mine. It works great not only for my work with photographs, but in my business as well where I need to be able to see down to the one pixel level.
