Pantanal again...Cayman
By the ever diminishing waterholes, full of fish, there were lots and lots of these creatures, some very large specimen. I do not care for them much, they can move with lightning speed but most of the time they sit with their mouth open. Not sure why...cooling off perhaps?

D2x, 200-400, 1/80 F/8, Iso 320, Tripod.
Raw, NX and PS CS3.

Nice sharp image Paula showing the skin texture very well.
I presume it has its mouth open to cool off as I beleive that is what crocodilans do as they have no sweat glands.

Very dramatic Paula. I haven't seen many of these in Pembrokeshire but I'll keep my eye open just in case !!

Yes thats how they cool off-nice portrait-The light is very nice in the mouth

The low angle and pinks of the tongue etc seem to just draw you in between those teeth! Great shot :smile:
