I was only able to shoot for a few hours this afternoon and got three images, including this one of ferns. I stood in place for an hour to get the photo - waiting for the wind to stop completely. It is a sacred place, and I feel like I need to hold my breath and walk softly and not make a sound when I am there (the breath thing is tough to do for an hour, the being quiet thing too since I talk to myself a lot when I am shooting!).

Very cool Tim, love the description of it's a "sacred place". Ferns are such a wonderful botanical. I even managed to point my lens their direction a few weeks ago at the CSNP gathering. They create an almost utopia feel to me.
Remember though, one must ask permission from the Higher Fern Powers to freely breath amongst them. So if you have, its ok to breath around them.

Great shot Tim, the green and grey colors really compliment each other.

Amazing location; great composition and capture Tim. Thanks for sharing. I sure wished you'd uploaded a version with less jpeg compression.

Hey John, these images are 7200 pixels on the long side (that's more than eight feet) - no way to keep from destroying 90% or more of the detail if they are going to be shown on the web. When I look at the original files at 100% on my 30" monitor it is pretty amazing.
