Common Tern
I believe it is a Common though it may be a Forsters. We usually don't see theme around here but the flooding has given them a vacation home. The post he is on is along the edge of a field and is usually about four and a half feet in the air. Olympus E510 70-300 at 600mm Eq f7.1 1/320 ISO 100

Bet you folks are getting tired of all that water. Is this an unusual situation, or does this happen every spring?

I don't know from terns, but you've captured a nice image with good composition.

Very nice.... the slight catch lite in its eye makes it.

Catch light is so important. It's hard to find a bird in a birding magazine without catch light. The photo editors love it.

With that bright colored beak, this looks to be a Common Tern, Kendall...Forsters are not quite that brilliant. Nice image and the catchlight in his eye is a big plus!
