Broken Top Reflection
This is another image recently reworked, that was shot at the same time as my previous post of the South Sister. This is Broken Top at sunset over SPark's Lake, taken Labor Day 2007.
Unlike the previous image, I had some brighter exposures to work with here, so I really worked on maintaining detail throughout to illustrate the layers I was seeing as the light faded. I was particularly drawn to the isolated group of evergreens in the meadow, and used them as my middle ground of Very life-less sky that trip, so I had to work it a bit in Photoshop to even it out.

Canon 20d : 24-105 L IS @ 45mm : ISO 100 : 2 sec : f/16 : -1 EV
Polarizer, 2-Stop Soft GND

Very nice, the light on Broken Top adds a nice focal point to this image. I also like the sweep of the shoreline in the LLC. I would still darken the reflection of Broken Top to match the sky and mountain in the top of the image. Very nice work, your processing is looking much better.

This is looking much better, Chris... I like this one way better than your last post.. the details are very crisp in this one, and the lighting is really nice! :toast:

Really nice, Chris, my only nit would be how the mountain "glows". I'd rather see the sky darken more consistently.

Better comp than the last post, Chris. Your sky vignetting is too close to the peak IMHO. It almost looks like haloing. I would transition more gradually. Other than that nit, a really good image.

I like the light on Broken Top here. I agree with darkening the reflection a little bit and the sky looks odd to me with the darkening around the mountain.

Very well done! Colors are rich and comp is nicely placed. Horizon seems to be leaning a bit down to the right, but no big deal. This'd make a great print.
