Same gear as the last images.

I have a Q however, do people prefer this image? Or the next one?

Which do people prefer?

No contest Paul, 1st image wins hands down. However the dust bunny in the top left corner was the first thing that caught my eye

Lovely shot :toast: :toast:

First one for me Paul. To me the second shot doesn't have enough environment for a good enviro shot and yet the bird is a bit small for a portrait. Position of bird in second picture is also a bit too central for my liking. I think if you were to crop RH side of second and had a bit more on the left then it would work better but even then it's still the first for me.
Fine image

Got to be the first Paul, might try just a slight trim from the bottom, just above the little bit of blue above the second b in your surname.

Nice image BTW (the dust bunny already mentioned  )

It has to be the first for me too!

Another vote for the first shot Paul,

The diagonal lichen covered rock, and the birds position on the peak, really make an eye-catching composition :toast: :toast:

Also the first one for me. My only nit would be thos shadows but I know that you can't wait untill the sun comes around the corner. You made the best out of it and you did very well.

I too prefer the first image, it makes more of that nice side lighting. However, rather than cropping from the bottom, I would crop a bit from the top (the rock is more interesting than the sky) and have the bird on a vertical third rather than in the centre.

Yep, first for me too, the pipit's face seems a bit dark (as its turned into shadow) in the second, which loses the impact for me. Like the interplay between the blue sky and yellow lichen in them too

I agree with the comments, except that the second image i prefer the point where the sea reaches the sky (the blue in both is infact sea not sky) which is why i posted it. Both are close to full frame so i have many cropping options.

Good image and some shadow lifting would help too.

very nice like the first shot, just to be different i say darken the shadows to create a more graphic composition

The first one for me I like the way the rock leads you upto the pipet.
